Pillars of Islam
They are practices must be undertraken by a person to be considered a true Muslim;
- Al-Shahadah - declaration of faith in the oneness of God and that Muhammad is the last prophet of God.
- Formal prayer five times a day (Fajr (dawn), Thuhr(Noon), Asr(Afternoon), Maghrib(Sunset) and Isha(Night)).
- Fasting during the daylight hours in the month of Ramadan.
- zakah which is a Poor-due "Tax" - 2.5% of one's savings given to the needy at the end of each year.
- Pilgrimage to Mecca in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at least once, if physically and financially able.
